'La petite Laura'
by Laura Guy
La petit Laura is both an invitation and performance. A personal memoir prepared and performed by French Danish dance artist, Laura Guy. After spending the last 2 years in choreographic development, the Berlin based dancer & choreographer premiered her debut solo work this April 2025 at Espacio E, Asunción, Paraguay. “La petite Laura” received three sold-out performances and enthusiastic reviews from both audience and press.
The deeply personal, yet universally resonant work, delves into the complex relationships between the joys of childhood and challenges of adulthood. La petite Laura weaves movement and sound into a series of emotionally familiar vignettes, sharing personal memories, transformations, and moments of self-discovery throughout the work. These humanistic shorts serve as a guide for the audience to reflect on their own personal experiences.
Childhood innocence and the complexities of adult life intertwine, creating a reflective journey through the past and present. With her signature physicality and evocative movement language, Laura Guy explores the tender terrain of self-discovery, touching on universal themes of healing, identity, and the passage of time.
La petit Laura invites the audience to enter into a world where boundaries between the past and present are in playful conversation, where joy and sorrow coexist, and with every gesture, a story is created on its own.
l'âme d'enfant—the childlike essence within us as we grow.
The evening will conclude with optional Q&A sessions, offering insight into the creative process and the personal memoirs that inspired the work. To be arranged upon agreement between the theater/ venue and the artist: Laura Guy.
